Inked Soul

Puleng Mathate,age 23 from Polokwane. A tattoo artist with a heart made of ink. His Love for drawing started at a very young age. When others kids were busy doing homework he was busy drawing on the walls of his bedroom which only got him in trouble at home and school. As he grew older his skill became even more apparent when an old gentlemen toke notice and told him about the history of the craft of tattooing and how it was passed on from generation to generation.

The Gentleman told him about how the Indians used it to display Cultural symbols or how the Egyptians used it as a form of punishment and status and how the Philippines used the art to show rank and Accomplishment and Many more.

This is when he toke the road of discovery and started studying the art of art. He describes his love for the art to that of a human and air, "its something I can't live without" as he spoke to us in a recent interview.
